How to clear your to-do list
Read why it's important to delete bad ideas and unimportant tasks from your to-do list.
If you have been involved in maintaining a backlog or a list of ideas, wishes, or suggestions, you may have experienced that it becomes heavier and heavier to maintain - and increasingly difficult to oversee.
One of the reasons is that it's easy to overlook that we not only need a process for how things get onto the list - we also need a process for how to delete something. The fact is that new desires and proposals tend to arise at a faster pace than we can implement them.
As a result, the list just keeps getting longer and longer and often ends up being completely out of proportion with the capacity we have available. This means that the list ceases to be an effective and useful working tool.
If you want to avoid ending up there, you need to establish criteria and a practice for deleting things from the list. This will lighten the atmosphere and increase motivation in the team. It will free up time as you no longer have to maintain a list of things that will never be done anyway. And it will better enable you to oversee and choose among the remaining possibilities.
Benelizer® Cloud provides you with an overview - both of what you should do and what you can safely delete. You can also learn more about the method in one of our master classes or get your backlog cleaned up in a focused workshop.
